About

GitHub notifications can't promise you'll see everything that needs you. They only exist for repos you watch at the right level, and anything marked read on your phone or by email is gone. Maintainer Inbox skips notifications entirely and asks GitHub search directly, so an issue stays in the list until it's actually been answered — not until you happened to glance at it.

The rule is simple: an item needs you when someone else was active on it (opened, commented, reviewed or pushed) more recently than you were. Bot activity — CI summaries, AI reviewers, rebase bots — never counts as a reply. It shows two groups: open items on repos you own (plus any extra owners or repos you add), and replies to you on issues and PRs anywhere on GitHub you opened, commented on, or were mentioned in. It runs through your logged-in gh; no token is read or stored.

Highlights

• Search, not notifications — nothing disappears because it was marked read somewhere else
• Needs you / waiting on them — items move between states as the conversation does
• Dismiss or mute — d sets an item aside until new outside activity, m for good
• Desktop notifications — one per new item, click to open it; a single summary when more than three land at once
• Silence is never hidden — if GitHub can't be reached for an hour, the bar turns urgent and shows !
