I'm David. I build what's missing for my own use in the OS environments I live in — whether that's Linux or macOS. Panel applets and capture tools for COSMIC, proper menu-bar apps for the Mac.
Most of these exist because something was missing — a clipboard manager COSMIC didn't have, a screenshot tool that couldn't annotate, a calendar that never felt native. So I built them.

A Thunderbird and Betterbird add-on that switches off the spaces you don't use — Address Book, Calendar, Tasks or Chat — across the toolbar, menus, shortcuts and tabs.
A COSMIC panel applet that shows how many app and system updates are pending — and installs them in place, without opening the Store.
Watches a TrueNAS SCALE server — and optionally Portainer — for pending Docker app updates, and applies them from a COSMIC panel applet or a macOS menu-bar app.
A COSMIC panel applet that watches Home Assistant for pending updates — Core, OS, add-ons and device firmware — and installs them from the panel, riding out the restarts.
A COSMIC panel applet that switches the device's DNS — Cloudflare, your Pi-hole, or back to the router's default — with an automatic cache flush on every change.

Still considering: CachyOS — the Arch approach without the Arch complexity — for a possible next machine, maybe a Framework laptop. TBD.
